COMMUNITY ARTIVISM

Community Artivism is a free 4-month programme that brings together young people (aged 16 - 25) with a connection to East London. The programme creates an empowering community in which young people explore their role as agents of change through the arts.

The programme consists of weekly two-hour creative workshops, weekly 1-to-1 support sessions with workshop facilitators, a full weekend of art-making, and a week of curating and creating exhibitions. Each participant receives a £100 grant to bring their artivist concept to life, all of which are then featured in the culminating collective exhibition. This project was created for young people by young people, providing participants with leadership skills, development opportunities, relatable learning environments, peer and 1-to-1 coaching/mentoring, and an artivist community tied together through a commitment to social change and the arts.
